RICCARDO MUTI, ELIAHU INBAL, ÁDÁM FISCHER E LOTHAR ZAGROSEK NEL COMITATO ARTISTICO D’ONORE DEL PREMIO CANTELLI

Il 27 aprile il centenario della nascita del direttore d’orchestra novarese

Posticipata al 15 maggio la chiusura delle iscrizioni al concorso

Al novero dei giurati del rinato Premio internazionale di direzione d’orchestra “Guido Cantelli” si aggiunge un Comitato artistico d’onore composto da vincitori illustri delle precedenti edizioni: oltre a Riccardo Muti, che trionfò a soli ventisei anni nel 1967, saranno coinvolti anche il direttore israeliano Eliahu Inbal, insignito del Premio nel 1963, Ádám Fischer e Lothar Zagrosek, ex aequo al concorso nel 1973.

Dopo quarant’anni di pausa, il Premio viene riproposto grazie all’impegno del Teatro Coccia di Novara proprio in occasione del centenario della nascita di Guido Cantelli, che ricorre lunedì 27 aprile 2020. Stimato da Arturo Toscanini e dal soprano Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, che lo definì “il fanciullo degli dei”, il direttore d’orchestra novarese scomparve tragicamente a trentacinque anni nella notte tra il 23 e il 24 novembre 1956 nel disastro aereo di Orly, pochi giorni dopo la nomina a Direttore stabile dell’Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala. Cinque anni dopo venne istituito il premio in sua memoria che proseguì fino al 1980.

L’attenzione del Premio Cantelli al pubblico più giovane trova inoltre un primo riscontro nel blog appena inaugurato e dedicato alla Giuria Giovani. Una piattaforma multimediale in cui i ragazzi selezionati nelle scuole secondarie di primo grado di Novara potranno condividere contenuti e scambiarsi opinioni sul concorso e sui candidati, con il coordinamento dell’associazione Giovani dietro le quinte.

Tra le altre novità del Cantelli 2020 anche il Premio Eleganza sul podio, assegnato da Corinne Baroni, Direttore del Teatro Coccia, al finalista che si distinguerà per la bellezza del gesto: un frac disegnato da Carlo Pignatelli e offerto da Altin Tafilaj, CEO e fondatore di Sunsnote (sunsnote.com).

A causa dell’emergenza Covid-19, la chiusura del bando è stata infine posticipata alla mezzanotte di venerdì 15 maggio. I nomi degli ammessi al concorso saranno comunicati il 17 giugno.

On December 23th will arrive in theaters italian Cinderella, fairy tale for children of all ages, by Carlo Verdone.  The “television kolossal” directed in 2012 by the beloved roman director, housed in the Palace of Venaria in Piedmont, is enhanced in this edition of animated images by Annalisa Corsi and Maurizio Forestieri, in the service of music, masterfully conducted by Gianluigi Gelmetti. To reach the final product was necessary an assembly work and alternation that took six months of editing. To give life to the characters Lena Belkina as Cinderella, Edgardo Rocha, Annunziata Vestri, Anna Kasyan, Carlo Lepore, Simone Alberghini, Lorenzo Regazzo. Gianluigi Gelmetti directs the Symphony Orchestra of RAI.

As part of the project “The Good School” launched by the Ministry of Education, former Minister Luigi Berlinguer, currently chairman of the National Committee for the practical learning of music, has launched a proposal for the National Plan for music at school.

The Rake’s Progress is Igor Stravinskij’s most representative and represented work. The opera is on stage at La Fenice during the Festival “Lo spirito della musica di Venezia, which will run until 12 August 2014.

The last of five performances was staged Saturday, July 5th, greeted by an enthusiastic audience.

The Rake’s Progress debuted in Venice in 1951, but until now it had only returned here twice. Directed by Damiano Michieletto, he identifies defined steps for the training of the main character; the naif Tom Rackwell (played by Juan Francisco Gatell)  is undermined by the devilish Nick Shandow (Alex Esposito) in a bourgeois idyll. The work is directed by Diego Matheuz, set designed by Paolo Fantin and costumes designed by Carla Teti. 

The very appreciated director Michieletto, originary from Venice and graduated at Ca ‘Foscari and at Piccolo in Milan, has done more than twenty-five new productions. He has helped to intesify the most impressive aspects of this script.

The Cultural heritage Institute of the Emilia-Romagna administration bet on an artistic project that represents a news for nowdays intellectual panorama.

It concerns a multimedial route, an online collection, entirely devoted to the musical heritage preserved in the all 40 museums and collections in the area. Accessibility and gratuity are the base of the project that provide seven digital paths of exploration regarding several themes, from characters and places of classical music, to lutheries collections, musical instruments and popular music. The history of these iconic places, where Giuseppe Verdi has been a protagonist, is related to short written texts, photo galleries and videos that tell the life of the most important characters and moments in Emilia-Romagna music history.

The last 26 June at Como there has been the first of three evenings in the name of sharing between citizens and artists. There has been Cavalleria Rusticana of Pietro Mascagni, opera libretto of Targioni-Tozzetti and Menasci, based on Giovanni Verga’s novel. The opera has opened the “Festival Como Città della Musica”.

On stage there were 350 people, but the extraordinariness of this event was that the 210 chorists, 6 mimes, 40 children and 30 orchestrals out of 80 were no professionals. It’s the community of Como that makes theater and becomes theater itself. A “partecipatory opera” as Barbara Minghetti said;  since 2009 she’s the President of the “Teatro Sociale di Como”.

The long preparation began in October with a meeting at week : housewives, plumbers, doctors, pensioners and students next to professional musicians worked hard together. A great human and constructive experience. 

With the musical direction of Josè Luis Gomez-Rios, directed by Serena Sinigaglia, set design by Maria Spazzi, Cavalleria Rusticana has been acclaimed by an enthusiastic audience. An audience that has toasted with « compare Turiddu » singing « Viva il vino spumeggiante ».

In conclusion, a work made of real life, of everyone’s daily life, actors and spectators.
