
For a seventh after his death, in Milan, eight thousand people in Piazza della Scala for the last farewell to Maestro Abbado.
A crowd moved and silently gathered to hear the notes of the Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Daniel Barenboim who performed inside the theatre the Funeral March from the third Eroica Symphony of Ludwig van Beethoven. For the occasion, the theatre was empty and the doors open. Playing the Eroica is a tradition that is repeated for the Masters of the orchestra for over half a century.
